The International Driver's Document (The “IDD,” also referred to as International Driver’s License (The “IDL”)) is an unofficial translation of your valid, native driver’s license. The International Driver’s Document translation provided by idlun-usa.com comes as a package that includes a multi-page Translation Booklet (about the size of a passport) and single double-sided plastic ID card (about the size of a credit card) that includes your demographic information as stated on your native driver’s license. The samples of the International Driver's Document can be found here.
No test is required to obtain your International Driver’s Document translation.
The International Driver’s Document translation is used in conjunction with, but does not replace your valid national driver’s license. International Driver’s Document serves as a translation of your valid native driver’s license and does not substitute any government issued driver’s license or photo ID.
The major advantage of having the International Driver’s Document translation while travelling is to help you overcome language barriers. It may also help you rent a car in a foreign country and even obtain car insurance in some regions. This document is ideal for travelers visiting multilingual destinations.
You can rent a car in most countries, however, always check with the country you are traveling to prior to your departure as rules and regulations vary from country to country. To operate a vehicle in a foreign country, you need to have both your native driver’s license that is currently valid and is not suspended and/or revoked and the International Driver’s Document translation.
Non-government ID card cannot be used to verify your identity. This ID card serves to validate your place of residence such as country or state where you live.
Some states accept International Driver’s License translation accompanied with valid native driver’s license. You need to contact your local DMV office to check your state’s specific rules and regulations, as they are different from state-to-state and are subject to change. Some states may also require you to have a valid tourist visa.
It takes on average 24 hours to process your document, plus shipping and handling time.
If your document is in any other status, but ‘Shipped’ most likely it’s missing the following: your current photo, your signature, or a copy of your original driver’s license. You can e-mail missing documents to firstname.lastname@example.org and we process your document as soon as we receive your missing documents.
We use your native driver’s license to verify your identity to prevent fraud. And translation we provide is based on your native driver’s license.
